Hi, I’m Jenn!

Heal from Childhood Trauma Without Losing Yourself in Everyone Else

Welcome to Mind Talk Counseling. I'm glad you're here.

I specialize in helping high-achieving women of diverse backgrounds heal from childhood trauma through virtual EMDR therapy. Many of the women I work with appear successful on the outside—they excel in their careers, care deeply for others, and seem to have it all together. But beneath the surface, they often struggle with people-pleasing, perfectionism, over-functioning, and feeling responsible for everyone else's happiness.

If you're exhausted from always putting yourself last, constantly questioning whether you're doing enough, or feeling guilty when you try to set boundaries, you're not alone. These patterns often develop as survival strategies in childhood and can continue to shape your relationships, self-worth, and emotional well-being long into adulthood.

Therapy can help you understand where these patterns began, heal the underlying trauma, and create lasting change. My goal is to help you process unresolved childhood experiences, reconnect with your authentic self, regulate your nervous system, and build healthier, more fulfilling relationships—without sacrificing yourself in the process.

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) providing virtual therapy to adults throughout Texas. I am EMDR Certified through the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA), having completed advanced training and extensive consultation to provide high-quality, evidence-based trauma treatment. EMDR therapy is an effective approach for healing childhood trauma, attachment wounds, complex trauma, anxiety, and other experiences that continue to affect your life today.

In addition to EMDR, I integrate somatic therapy to help you better understand and regulate your nervous system. Healing isn't just about changing your thoughts—it's also about helping your body feel safe enough to let go of survival patterns that are no longer serving you.

As a bilingual therapist, I also help women explore how family dynamics, cultural expectations, and societal messages have influenced the way they see themselves, care for others, and navigate relationships. Together, we'll create a space where every part of your story is welcomed with curiosity, compassion, and respect.

I know how vulnerable it can feel to begin therapy, and I don't take that trust lightly. My own healing journey has shown me that meaningful change is possible. You don't have to keep carrying the weight of your past on your own. Healing is possible, and you deserve the opportunity to live a life that feels authentic, connected, and truly your own.

My Approach

I practice a non-oppressive and judgement free zone where you can explore ways in which patriarchy and gender roles are keeping you from living in alignment with your personal values. By developing a strong sense of self, you will feel free to live authentically, develop healthy relationships, and gain a deeper understanding of yourself.

Start your journey with me and see how things can shift in your life! My style is conversational, relaxed, and engaging. I am all about celebrating the wins in your life and listening to the struggles. Everyone should feel seen by their therapist. I feel that by learning and being curious about ourselves, we can better understand why we do the thigs we do and stop repeating the same old patterns. Together we can create lasting changes in your life!

What is EMDR and why is that my modality of choice?

I am a certified EMDR therapist through the EMDR International Association(EMDRIA). Although I use many tools to help reduce intrusive thoughts, anxiety, and depressive thoughts, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(CBT) EMDR is the most effective. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is one of the most researched and evidence-based therapies for trauma related conditions, particularly PTSD. Although most common for PTSD, EMDR is also effective for treating other mental health conditions, including anxiety disorders, depression, and even some chronic pain conditions.

“As you start to walk on the way, the way appears. Clarity doesn’t come before action. It comes from action.”
